Here is the now famous Sue's Fruity Chicken Salad recipe which was prepared and enjoyed by all attending this year's Past Board Members' Luncheon.

    Sue’s Fruity Chicken Salad

    2 cups cooked chicken
    1 cup celery
½ cup toasted slivered almonds (omit this, we will add last minute)
1 cup red grapes (halved if large)
½ cup mayo (reg. or lite, not no-fat)
    1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Mix mayo and lemon juice together.  Toss with remaining ingredients.

Early Childhood News

Early Childhood Education has always been a very central and important topic to all of us here at Civic League Day Nursery. More recently this has been a hot topic in our community with the Rochester Area Foundation's first Steps Initiative.

First Steps is a community wide effort to improve school readiness for the childeren of Rochester and to also bring support to the children, families, and early childhood educators in our community.

Research has shown that 60% of incoming kindergarteners in Rochester Public Schools were not fully ready to learn.

Here at Civic League Day Nursery we are very proud of the fact that 90% of our children are prepared and ready to learn. The other 10% of our children are receiving the additional services they need to be successful.

We are equally very proud of our qualified and hard working staff that work with and enrich our children and their lives on a daily basis.

We are very thankful for this focus on Early Childhood Education and encourage everyone to support this initiative. To find out more about the First Steps Program check out their website at www.firststeps.us.
